My doctor appointment

I must be cursed I swear! I went to my regular doctor to show her my ankle that has been hurting for weeks. The vein around it is inflammed so I was concerned. She says I have phlebitis. Here is the explanation from the Mayo Clinic:

When a clot and associated inflammation occur in a vein, the disorder is called thrombophlebitis. Often the name is shortened to phlebitis. A minor inflammation may be called thrombosis.

Phlebitis may affect either a deep or a superficial vein. It can be caused by prolonged bed rest after an operation, paralysis, cancer or the use of the female hormone estrogen. Sometimes prolonged sitting during a long car or airplane ride will cause thrombosis of a vein.

When the clot and inflammation occur in a readily visible vein near the surface of the skin, the diagnosis is superficial thrombophlebitis. The hard, tender clot can usually be felt and seen, and the affected area feels uncomfortable. Superficial thrombophlebitis rarely leads to serious complications. Treatment consists of applying heat to the area, elevating the limb and using anti-inflammatory medications.

So, there you have it. I have to put heat on it for 6 weeks and keep my feet up whenever I'm sitting. Good news is it's not warranting surgery, bad news is it will take 6 weeks to go away.
It could always be worse.

Dr. appt and other news

David's Dr. news:
David's doctor appointment went fairly well. The doctor checked his hormone levels and sperm analysis report that the other urologist in Houston sent over, he concurred that he was fine. As far for the procedure on his vein, his doctor saidm after examining it, that it didn't warrant surgery. The doctor told him that he too had a variocele and he had three kids. So, that is promising. He also said the cyst was probably the culprit in our difficulties. So, time will tell. I have a simple plan...to keep bding at the right time until I get to SA and if I dont' get pregnant before then, then I will set up a new appointment with the fertility clinic and get the iui with injectables going. That's what my old dr. suggested anyway.

Home news:
House looks 90 percent back to normal. Have to resod like I said and get the drywall done but that it minimal. The house we put an offer on is not on the market any more so we have to keep looking. I won't get my hopes up on another house until we get a signed contract. That's what I get for being hopeful. LOL

Car update:
Well, the car accident with my Cooper really shook me up mentally. 1400 dollars worth of damage but that means nothing compared to the fact that I could have gotten hurt.
At that moment I realized a little car is not for me. Not with kids, and not with hopefully a new baby. I hesitated to tell David that I had made an impractical choice and wanted a bigger car. I mean, it's only a month old! He was totally supportive and understanding! I should have known that my hubby knew better than anyone what I have been through recently. What a guy.
So, what kind of car should I get? I safe and study one. One with enough room for kids, dogs, cargo and not a gas guzzler. We looked at several different SUV's but ultimately decided on the Volvo XC90. It's really nice and I saw a 2004 with everything in it just like I wanted. I pick it up next weekend. How's that for quick! I know I made the right decision and as soon as the Cooper is fixed, it's bye bye! It was fun driving it but let's face facts. I can't be having fun at 40! LOLOL

Dr: update on me:
I have an appointment with my regular doctor tomorrow. I have been having ankle problems for about 6 weeks now. It gets stiff when I dont' walk on it and now the vein around it is swollen. Just what I need right? I hope it's nothing too serious.

So, thats it for today. It's been so hectic that I'm lucky I have time to breathe. I hope everyone is doing well. Thanks for the encouraging comments...you sure make me smile!

Coming to terms...

Hi everyone. I know I haven't really blogged in a while but I thought I'd fill everyone in as to what has been happening.

As you know, I had to take my home off the market. This alone stressed me out to no end. Having the plumbers pump the water out of my yard and kitchen had taken it's toll on me. I thought I was doomed.

If that wasn't enough, I went to do laundry (we had no water) and my SIL's house and wound up getting into an accident. My brain was in a cloud and it was totally my fault. I am ok, just shook up and 1400 dollars of damage later, I don't even have my Cooper presently. I have three claims going with my insurance company...boy, how they must love me!

But, slowly, progess is being made. The leak has been fixed albeit a major dirt area in my side yard that has to be resowed, the wood floors I ordered were just installed yesterday and my car is being repaired. Today, the final adjuster comes to give me an estimate on the huge hole
the plumber made in my drywall. Luckily, it's in the garage.

Today is also my husband's urologist appointment in SA. The doctor is going to determine if he needs to have this procedure done called a variocelele. Basically, he has a vein which is allowing too much blood flow and it's making sperm conditions exceed recommended temps. This is an outpatient procedure, maybe one that can even be performed in his office. We shall see.

So, that's it. I will put my house back up on the market for Monday. I would normally do it this weekend but Saturday we're throwing Mikey a 13th birthday party and Sunday is Father's day.

I hope things are going well for everyone, better than than they have been going for me. LOL

Take care and hopefully I'll have more good news to report soon. Miss ya guys!!! Love Ally

My house is temporarily off the market

As if I wasn't in a funk from the usual goings on in my life, it has taken a turn for the worse.

I noticed three days ago that there was some water flooding a part of my yard. I checked the hoses and the water valves, both off. It wasn't until I saw water coming in between my wood planks on the floor that I started to panic. I called my home warranty company who dispatched a plumber immediately. His findings: a leak under the house in between the water heater and the sink in my kitchen.

Tomorrow they are coming at 8AM to dig up the side of the house and then Sunday the plumber comes in to fix the leak and reroute the lines so this doesn't happen again. In the interim the 6 month old wood floors we put in are trashed and have to be replaced in the kitchen and dining room.

There is some good news in this. My insurance is paying for everything the warranty service isn't covering minus their deductible. So, needless to say, my home will look like total shit for the next 2 weeks while they fix things and we get the floors redone. Thats two weeks without showing it and two weeks further into the summer without moving.

Is it too early for Vodka???

hopeless

I'm sorry I haven't really posted lately. I've been feeling totally ill at ease lately. Too many things are just up in limbo and I really can't stand it.

Waiting to move so I can look for a house, be with David while he gets his problems taking care of, and start to ttc again. I can't afford to wait months and months...40 is around the corner.

So, here I sit and wait. And hope. It's so damn frustrating.
