Hi Guys...

Well, some of you asked so I thought I'd respond with a quick post. I am doing ok...just waiting for the bitch to arrive. I am 10 DPO and I've been a tad under the weather for a few days. Constant headaches and running to the john (if you know what I mean). I was a tad dehydrated today so I took it easy and didn't go to the gym.

Nothing else really new to report. I already filled my Clomid and just doing the waiting game. I hope everyone is doing well.

Side note to Jessi: come on yahoo IM...I would like a word with you missy!

Husband's note on the refrigerator to his wife:

Someone from the Guyna Colleges called.

They said the Pabst beer is normal.

I didn't know you liked beer.

My RE Appt

Today was my first consultation with the RE (Dr. Shenken) here in San Antonio. David came with me and I'm glad he did. First of all, I would have gotten terribly lost and I figured the doctor would like to meet with him. All in all I think it went well. This guy seems to know his stuff and has major credentials. http://www.uthscsa.edu/obgyn/faculty.html

He suggested we go another IUI route with the Clomid since that has been successful for getting pregnant. David told him about his reluctance to go another round since he didn't want to see me "bleed out" again. The doctor suggested we have some chromosomal testing done to see if David and I are compatible. It's measured in percentages so the lower the percent, the better. He's seen couples have a 25-50 percent in abnormalities and still be able to have a healthy baby. We should have the results in a couple of weeks. My major concern is sustaining a pregnancy, not really in "getting" pregnant.

As it stands now, I am CD 19 and will be taking the Clomid after AF comes (hopefully she won't) and doing the IUI on CD 14. If everything is fine with the chromosomal testing and the Clomid doesn't work for the next cycle, he opted I start taking FSH shots for the following cycle. Apparantly the effective rate is much higher than with the Clomid. You take the shots for 10 days and you get monitored every few days with U/S. Much more aggressive but I had luck with the Clomid so we will start with that.

I am trying to be real optimistic and cautious. I am trying not to get all caught up in the drama of all this fertility stuff and just go on with my normal every day life. I am telling myself not to worry about the chromosomal testing results and let what will happen, happen. Hey, it'll happen whether I'm freaked out or not so I figure why fight what I can't change.

Anyway, that's it. I will see him on again on CD 11 to monitor me for the IUI. Until then, the word pregnant is omitted from my vocabulary.

On other news, my appointment with the new RE is this Thursday. David is going with me so we'll see how it goes. We will probably go the IUI route again...I will be CD 19 so if I'm not PG this month ((we bd'd our tooshies off this month) then that's our plan.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Lesley, I heard about the terrible cyclone you had there...I hope you're ok.
Jamie, I'm glad you had a good time in Houston...sorry I missed ya.
Chassy, Jenn & Heather P, kiss those babies for me.
Heather M...Congrats on your little girl. She is so sweet.
Jessie, I hope you're doing ok. Hugs!!

Everyone else I missed, I hope you're doing well.

Cd4

Well, the Clomid with simple Bding didn't work...sorry to say. I made an appointment with an RE here...he's supposed to really know his stuff so we'll see. I won't be able to see him until I'm CD 19 so this cycle will be a bust. *sigh*

So much is going on. I'm having my office enclosed so the contracters have been here everyday. That has been annoying. Drilling and hammering grates on a person after a while. David is almost done with the kids wooden playset...I will take pics once it's completed. I have unpacked about 90 percent of the boxes. All that is left is my clothes which I realize I have too much of.

The kids are adjusting to life here in San Antonio. Kelly has made lots of friends and even my next door neighbors have two little girls. She is complaining that her classes are too easy. They don't have honors here in elementary so she is way above the rest. She will be going into the GT schedule (Gifted & Talented) next year. Last night we went to her Open School Night to meet her teachers...why they have it so late into the year is beyond me but it was good for me since she just started.

One little downer I had at the school. As we were waiting for her Social Studies teacher (she was talking to another parent who was holding a small baby) she turns to me and says " Don't you just want one of these precious little ones?" I know she didn't know what my situation and it really didn't get to me too much until I turned and looked at Kelly and she gave me the saddest face and started rubbing my back. My poor child even knows my turmoil. At that point I just hugged her and told her that if I never had another one, her and Mikey would be plenty for me. I know I'm very fortunate to even have them so I can't complain too much.

So, that's it. It's been really hard to communicate with you ladies...I am usually never around long enough to chat but hopefully that will change soon. I hope everyone is well.
