I'm back

Sorry it's been so long since my last post but I haven't been online much due to Hurrican Rita. We were prepared for a major hit here in Houston but I am happy to say we only sustained very little damage. No damage to my home which I'm thankful for...just alot of tree limbs down and things blown around but that's about it.

The traffic was horrendous getting in and out of Houston and we had very little fuel so many people got stuck. Dave knows all the back roads so we were able to get to San Antonio in about 7 hours (it's normally a 4 hr. drive).

We put up our relatives in a one room hotel that we found (they were all sold out by the time they got there) so we had 8 people in a room and 4 animals. I was just thankful we had a roof over our heads. My daughter got sick with a sore throat (she has strep) so that was fun.

All in all, it went ok. I am feeling fine, just stressed from the whole ordeal. Now I have the pleasure of putting everything away (I packed pictured and special stuff) and getting the boards off my windows. I am trying to take it easy but it has been difficult.

I had a dr. appt on Monday which was cancelled so I go back on Thursday for an update on whether I still have two babies or just one.

I hope this post finds everyone doing well. I'm sorry I've been so out of touch.

Take care everyone.

Latest U/S

As you can see, there is only one. The doctor told me baby A stopped growing about 5 days ago. They weren't able to detect a heartbeat on it and she thinks it will just not catch up to baby b.
Yes, I'm sad...but still grateful for the baby I do have. A strong heart beat, at 156 bpm. A bittersweet day for me all in all.

My day from Hell

well, actually it started yesterday. I was playing with my big dog Sonny...and he accidentally jumped up and hit me RIGHT IN THE EYE. Man, I was seeing stars. My hubby rushed over because I wouldn't take my hand off of it and all he could be is my closed eyes with tears pouring out. 30 minutes of applying ice and now my whole eyelid is purple. Nice.

Wake up this morning itching like crazy. I go into the bathroom, lift up my shirt and I have a rash all over my belly. Red bumps all over. I'm in a panic. I put some Benadryl on which does nothing so the only thing I can do is call the dr. when they get in. 2 hours later I get in to see her and she thinks it's a "typical pregnancy rash". I have been pregnant twice and have never had a rash. She refers me to her dermatologist across the hall to take a look. She told me to stop using the cream for stretch marks...that it clogs my pores apparantly. So yes, she said "pregnancy rash" and gives me some steroid cream. It will disappear within a week she says. Sheesh!!!!!!

So, for now I am itchy and my eye is swollen. I look GREAT! And how was your day???

THANK GOD I MADE IT!!
